The MELOMANICS CEILIDH BAND has been performing in various formats for over 17 years throughout Shropshire and the surrounding counties.

More recently the band is primarily represented by the DUO, Rich on guitar, fiddle and mandolin, and Tim on melodeon, whistles and flute, though not necessarily playing all these instruments at the same time!!! For events that require additional musical input, Neil, guitarist and singer/songwriter, and another founder member, is happy to join the band.

The Melomanics can be tailored to your needs/budgets. What might be thought to be lacking in numbers is copiously compensated by the energy and colour of our performance, and even in its minimal size the band regularly attracts compliments on the fullness of the sound. For smaller events when some dancing is requested Tim will call and play.

THE MELOMANICS not only play great music, but do so with unbridled enthusiasm and whacky humour. With a caller cheerfully giving clear instructions on how to do the dances, they provide an experience that will be unforgettable for it’s warmth and moments of hilarity.
